Back to the Future creator Bob Gale responds to Back to the Future 4 possibilities

Producer and screenwriter Bob Gale once said that the way Hollywood is going, Back to the Future will be the only trilogy left standing. Since wrapping on Part III over 30 years ago, both he and director Robert Zemeckis have been adamant that there will never be a Part IV. However, in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, they asked Bob G how he would respond if Bob Z changed his mind and wanted to do it.

Express.co.uk asked: “If Bob Z called you up and was completely serious saying, ‘I’ve got an idea, I want to make Back to the Future 4!’, how would you react?”

Gale, who was promoting Back to the Future the Musical, smirked and replied: “He wouldn’t do that! That’s just not going to happen, no!”

He continued: “There’s a couple of things. First of all, do you want to see a Back to the Future movie without Michael J Fox? No, you don’t.

“Michael J Fox has Parkinson’s disease. Do you want to see Marty McFly suffering from Parkinson’s disease? No, you don’t want that either.”

Gale continued: “Do you even want to see Michael J Fox at age 60 [playing Marty]? No, you don’t want to see that either.

“No more than you want to see…I won’t name any names…they bring some of these actors out with mothballs for some of these sequels and you think, ‘That’s not the version of that character I want to see!’”

“When people say I want to see Back to the Future 4, I think what they’re really saying is, ‘I want to see something that makes me feel the same way I felt when I first saw Back to the Future.’”

Well, the producer is happy to let fans know that there are two ways that can be done.

Back to the Future the Musical is playing at the Adelphi Theatre in London.

Gale shared: “One of them is Back to the Future in Concert. That’s running the original movie with a live orchestra playing the score.

“The effect of the live music is so electric, it really does feel like you’re watching the movie again for the first time, it’s wonderful.

“The other way is right here at the Adelphi Theatre, in London – Back to the Future the Musical. It makes you rediscover all the things you love about Back to the Future.”

There you have it folks, as we stated many times over and over, there will NEVER be a Back to the Future part 4. And for good reason, you can’t top something that is already perfect.
